Sarah Rumbaugh has served Tacoma’s District 2 since 2021, bringing her city planning background and commitment to practical solutions. She chairs the Community Vitality and Safety Committee and the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center, where she’s worked with Pierce County to support domestic violence services. Rumbaugh has championed affordable housing development, including the Home in Tacoma Project, which aims to create diverse housing types throughout the city. She serves on the South Sound 911 board as Finance Committee chair and was appointed by the Association of Washington Cities to the State Shorelines Hearings Board.
With a master’s in environmental studies and two decades of public service, Rumbaugh balances progressive values with fiscal responsibility. She’s earned the backing of The News Tribune for her experience and steady leadership.
